Delete My Vinyl+ account data

You can request deletion of your My Vinyl+ account and associated personal data, or ask us to remove selected data while keeping the rest. You do not need to reinstall the app to make a request.

Email a deletion request to [email protected]

Use the subject My Vinyl+ data deletion request. Tell us whether you use iPhone, Android, or both, and whether you want all My Vinyl+ data deleted or only specific information. If you use Discogs with My Vinyl+, you can include your Discogs username to help us understand your request.

Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens or full payment details. We may ask for limited additional information to verify that the records belong to you. A Discogs username alone does not identify every My Vinyl+ installation or purchase.

What happens next

Requests are handled manually. Sending an email or removing the app does not automatically delete server records. We first need to verify ownership and identify the relevant records, which can differ between devices and services.

Depending on the features you used, your request may concern account or profile information, device and notification registrations, purchase-service customer records, analytics or diagnostics, and information you sent to support. You can also identify a specific contribution or message. Some installation-based records cannot be located from your name, email or Discogs username alone.

Our response will explain the records we can identify, the deletion steps and expected timing, and any information that must remain with its reason and applicable retention period. A request is not complete while an agreed deletion step is still pending. Anonymous aggregate information cannot necessarily be traced back to one person. This process does not limit your rights under applicable data protection law.

Discogs and store subscriptions

Deleting My Vinyl+ data does not delete your Discogs account, Discogs collection or wantlist. Discogs manages those records separately. To delete a Discogs account, use Discogs account settings.

Deleting My Vinyl+ data does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, or remove records held independently by those stores. You can manage billing through Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. We can handle your data request even if you have already removed the app.

Data on your devices

Signing out or using Android’s Remove account action does not request deletion of server records. On iOS, the existing Delete account link leads to Discogs account management; it does not delete the separate My Vinyl+ app records.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its local data can remove local copies, but does not remove every identifier or backup. In particular, the iOS purchase identifier can remain in iCloud Keychain after uninstalling or signing out. Device and cloud backups are managed separately through Apple or Google.

Using the app again can recreate app records or sync data again from Discogs. Mention the devices you use in your request so the local and server steps can be considered together.
